The Honor 9i price in India is Rs. 17,999, and the new smartphone will be available in the country starting October 14, exclusively via e-commerce titan Flipkart. The company has not yet announced the launch offers for the phone, which will be revealed at the time of release only. Honor 9i will come in three colorMaimang 6, launched in China last month, and the Huawei Nova 2i that was launched earlier this month in Malaysia.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Following the current trend, the new Honor 9i features a FullView display which is a highlight of the device. It comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Another highlight of the Honor 9i is it sports four cameras: two at the front and two at the back. Dual cameras on both panels mean that the handset is capable of clicking Bokeh shots and portraits. Much like Huawei 8 Pro, the new Honor 9i also lets users readjust the focus after the photo has been shot while also allows to choose different Bokeh effects.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The company adds that the Honor 9i features the 'Huawei Histen audio system' from its 2012 Lab, algorithmically enhancing sound output. Honor is also highlighting Bluetooth aptX support. The handset also comes with some gesture-based shortcuts like 'draw an S' for a long screenshot to capture an entire webpage; 'tap twice with one finger' for a screenshot, and 'tap twice with two fingers' for screen recording.</span><br />

It features a screen resolution of 1080x2160 pixels (FHD+) and comes with a screen to body ratio of 83 percent. At the front, it sports a 13-megapixel sensor accompanied by a 2-megapixel sensor for depth of field enabled shots. At the back, there's a 16-megapixel primary sensor clubbed with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">An octa-core Kirin 659 processor powers the handset clocked at 2.36GHz coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. However it's also got one of its own kind to contender with too in the form of the Huawei Ascend P6 - a super-slim smartphone which may not have such a blockbuster camera, 4G connection or as large internal storage, but it does sport a far more attractive design and it's difficult to see how the Chinese firm will be able to market both successfully side by side.</div>

We're told though the back cover (which isn't removable by the way) on our review isn't the same as the one which will find its way onto the P2 which you'll be able to pick up from stores, so hopefully it will offer a bit more grip.</div>

The microSIM port itself is covered by a plastic flap which isn't too tricky to flip open, although popping your SIM in and out is more of a challenge and unless you have some decent length in your nails you'll need to use the little tool included in the box to manipulate the card.</div>

It's immediately clear the moment you take it out of its classy, compact white box. The super-slim, squared-off body, flat surfaces and metallic rim are pure iPhone 5 (though the colouring of our black model is closer to the iPhone 4S). In terms of external ports and buttons, Huawei has made some interesting decisions. The power button and volume rocker placement is pretty tradition, up high on the right hand side. In both look and ultra-clicky feel they reminded us of the Asus PadFone 2 equivalents, which is no bad thing.</div>

The most notable thing on the controls front is the lack of physical or capacitive control keys. Rather, Huawei is one of the few third party manufacturers to follow Google's lead and opt for virtual buttons built into the UI (more on which in a moment).</div>

The ports are even more unorthodox. You'll find the microUSB port situated on the top edge of the Ascend P6, which is unusual in itself. But the truly out-there element here is the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is situated right at the bottom of the left hand edge.</div>

That would be odd enough, but then there's the bizarre metal nub-like cover that we initially mistook for a lanyard hook. Once removed, it turns out that it's a small drawing pin-shaped tool for accessing the Ascend P6's SIM and microSD trays.</div>

Still, at least there is a microSD slot present to require such a tool. With a paltry 8GB of internal storage available here, additional memory is sorely needed. For music fans, gamers, and power users 8GB definitely won't be enough, so we're extremely glad that Huawei included a microSD slot - even if accessing it proves a little fiddly.</div>
