First look: Xiaomi Redmi Note in India
Xiaomi has announced the Redmi Note phablet for Indian market and this will be available to people from first week of December onwards. The China-based popular brand has tied up with Airtel to launch the 4G variant of Redmi Note which becomes the cheapest 4G powered phablet in the market at Rs 9,999. Both the variants carry chipset, connectivity and MiUi version differences and besides that, both of the devices are exactly the same.

So what do we make of the latest Xiaomi product? We managed to spend some time with the device and here's our first look of the Redmi Note.

Redmi Note sports a 5.5 inch HD 1280x720p display and running on MiUi over Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (3G model) and Android 4.4 KitKat (4G variant). The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which comes handy for basic scratch-proof usage.

At the back, Redmi Note gets a glossy white-colored panel which looks, not only prone to scratches but highly reflective in nature as well.

Even for a 5.5 inch device, Redmi Note feels rather long in size and bulky, while holding it. It's got 9.5 mm thickness and weighs at almost 200 grams, heavier than Galaxy Note 4 as well.

Inbuilt speaker at the back and Mi branding embossed on the device.

Rest of the hardware, Mediatek octa-core (3G), Snapdragon 400 quad-core (4G), 2 GB RAM, 8 GB expandable storage, 13 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera, 3100 mAh battery.

Stay tuned for our detailed review of the Redmi Note.
